Marcigny, a small town nestling between the hills of Southern Burgundy, has been home to Emile Henry for the past 150 years. Faithful to its origins, the entire production is carried out here. Thanks to its clay, rich in refractory properties, Burgundy has remained a fertile area for potters, passing on their savoir-faire from generation to generation. Clay, a natural and noble material, has been used since the mists of the time to cook or preserve food. While respecting the traditional techniques, Emile Henry has introduced technological improvements (Ceradon ®) so that the dishes are more resistant to mechanical and thermal shock. Strong, durable, all Emile Henry pieces can be taken directly from the freezer to the hot oven, can go under a broiler and is microwave, freezer and dishwasher safe. The natural clay is unsurpassed for conducting and retaining heat. All pieces are perfect for everyday use and carry a 3 year warranty against defects.

This is a very pretty 12 x 9 baker that works for me when I want to make a smaller casserole, just for me, without a lot of leftovers. Great color and quality at a reasonable price. I used it to make mashed potato casserole and got excellent results. It cleaned up quickly and still looks perfect.
Love look and handles. Just enough smaller, deeper than less expensive baking dishes to provide a good alternative for whatever you're baking. Oven-to-table presentation too.
This is great quality and the perfect size for baking a deep dish. It's easy to hold and the white goes with anything. Emile Henry is considered to be one of the best brands (French) and you will be happy with the purchase.
Since I had already been very pleased by my Emile Henry pie dishes, loaf pan, and ramekins, I thought I would take a chance with this all-purpose baking dish, and I haven't been disappointed. So far I've made lasagna, baked macaroni and cheese, and a couple of batches of brownies, and I've gotten much better results than I did in my old Pyrex dish. The sides are also slightly deeper than Pyrex, which is very important for layered dishes like lasagna, and the interior glazing makes this far easier to clean baked on stains than glass is. It goes from the freezer to a hot oven with no problem and without much fear of it shattering.
The only thing this dish isn't the best for is dry roasting. EH recommends having at least a little bit of liquid in the dish whenever you cook in it, because that's supposed to help with the dish's longevity for some reason. For everything else, though, this is better than any other similar baking dish I've ever used.
Die Form ist sehr gefällig. Allerdings sind die in der Angebotsbeschreibung aufgeführten Maße falsch! Die Form misst nicht 45x37 cm sondern nur 28x21 cm! Ging deshalb zurück.
